Making a digital photo collage is not as difficult as one might think. It s really very simple with most photo editing software. It just takes a little time and patience. Even basic photo editing software that normally come with the purchase of a digital camera or printer. A very good photo editing software is PhotoShop Elements and older versions of it, which are perfectly fine, often come included with a new digital camera, printer or scanner.

Most people involved in creating scrapbooks, myself included, want them to last for generations. As a result, it is imperative that we use the correct supplies. Use of the incorrect supplies can lead to fading and ultimately the destruction of our precious memories. So what should you look for? First and foremost, make sure any scrapbooking supplies you use, including scrapbook stickers and scrapbook paper is acid free.

Why acid free? Products that contain acid will deteriorate overtime and cause the destruction of your photos. In order to ensure your photos and your scrapbooks will last as long as possible it is important to ensure that all materials are acid free. This means that they have a pH between

In my opinion, the absolute best feature of photo editing software like Photoshop, Photoshop Elements (PSE) and Paintshop Pro is the Layers Palette. Working with layers gives you so much flexibilty to try different elements on your layout design without accidentally ruining another area of it.

A few months ago I discovered the Photomerge function in Photoshop Elements. It was always there I know, but I m the sort of person who s a bit slow on the uptake with new functionality.

Anyway, suddenly I was able to make a decent electronic replica of my paper scrapped layouts. No more wonky digital photos. Paper scrapped layouts now have the shareability of digi-scrapped ones.

However, one thing I ve noticed is that the Scanner bed doesn t cover the full 12″ depth. So the first thing I d recommend is to ensure that either the top or the bottom half inch of the layout is free from photos or embellishments. Then butt the opposite

end of your layout up against the edge of the scanner bed and scan (I recommend 300 dpi in case you need to print it out later). When you have scanned one half of your layout, slide the layout over to scan the other half. It doesn t matter that there will be overlap. In fact that s a good thing.

Scrapbooking can be addictive. Creative individuals, browsing a scrapbooking supply store, often find themselves purchasing items for which they have no present use or future plan. A particular pack of paper is too pretty to resist. A certain embellishment is new and exciting. A kit would be just right if a friend has a baby sometime. Eventually, the scrapbooking supplies begin to overflow a box. Then they overflow two boxes. Papers become dog-eared or torn. It’s time to organize.

Such people eventually reach a point where they begin to despair, and question how to organize a scrapbook room. They don’t want to give up the craft, but it takes so much space.
